End of Season celebrations

Phew, these girls know how to celebrate the end of season, even if they were runners up in the grand final. Yesterday, the B grade Dusties played Poowong (can't help but laugh at that name) in the final and pulled off a good display of solid netball. Unfortunately it just wasn't enough and they lost 43-47. Never mind, a few shots later, all was forgotten and yep, you guessed it we ended up in the only discotheque in town, The Commercial!! Quality night out. Not quite feeling 100% today!

The netball and footie grand final day is probably the most popular day of the year, judging by the number of people there! Camping chairs lining the netball court and footie field, food and drink stalls galore and loyal supporters shaking their homemade banners and pom poms. The A grade final between Ellinbank and Poowong had the supporters booing and heckling in the final minutes, it was quite amazing to watch how dedicated these fans were! Each netball team correlates to an AFL team so Ellinbank are the West Coast Eagles and Poowong are Collingwood Magpies and so all the footie players come along and sing their footie song for the netballers. I've never seen anything like it!

This week in Warragul has been pretty quiet. Planning holidays! We have booked up for the Great Ocean Road at the end of October, camping in Apollo Bay for three nights and will visit Flemington Racecourse for the Melbourne Cup on Tuesday 2 November, hurrah!

Bob has been trawling the internet to find a golf strength and fitness programme that will make him a better golfer! He found one although I'm not entirely sure how effective it will be as he has been crippled for the past 2 days now and DencoRub has become his new best friend! Hot baths galore and he's walking like he's just gotten off his horse. What an old man. As a result, he played like an idiot yesterday (his words) and today he's off to play another round. Good luck with that! I'll not get the Vanilla Ice song ready just yet....

It's the Aussie Rules Grand Final next Saturday, St Kilda vs Collingwood and we're off to Barry and Kylie's neck of the woods for a BBQ and footie spectacular! Looking forward to it. I'm now off to find an alternative hangover cure to Irn Bru and a roll and square sausage......I miss Irn Bru.....
